TheDropp was conceived of and created in Vail, Colorado.
Beginning in January you can download our free iPhone app in the App store.
TheDropp is launching in Colorado in early 2016 with plans to expand to other states in 2017.
We are a diverse and passionate team of entrepreneurs who believe in creating a seamless and intuitive user experience.
Everything we do at TheDropp is rooted in our four core values: convenience, community, timeliness and service.
Our founder, Kevin Bohren, was an early employee at Compaq Computer Corporation in 1983. The “free benefits” program at that stage of the company included all the free soda Kevin could drink, which was pretty impressive to a 24-year-old recent college grad. When he retired 14 years later, he was head of the commercial desktop division, one of the largest divisions of the company.
Kevin Bohren was one of the first investors in DVR technology after he sat next to a man at a conference who told him: “I can pause live television,” something unheard of at the time.
Partner Rich Staats spent four years running a co-ed rail jam called Love for the Ladies. The event raised nearly $50,000 for the Vail Breast Cancer Awareness Group and helped local women get both treatment and “easement” — in the form of a spa day or whatever they desired — for their disease.
Partner Dennis McMahon has a book in the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library. (People also mistake him for actor Mark Wahlberg from time to time, but that’s neither here nor there.)
One of the first official employees of TheDropp is a veteran. Our Merchant Development Manager, Ryan Haley, was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy for more than a decade and spent a year in Afghanistan serving our country.
